Clark County is committed to ensuring that all our residents, businesses, and visitors have access to the technology they need to fully participate in the digital economy and thrive.
The County has been actively engaged with Internet Service Providers (ISPs), Managed Service Providers (MSPs), and organizations involved in the deployment and operation of broadband infrastructure, as well as local affordable housing owners, to learn more about their perspectives and specific needs.
The County has also been working with infrastructure partners to bring Middle-Mile connectivity to selected County facilities, which can provide backhaul and interconnection opportunities to reduce the cost of deployment for our partners who are interested in expanding their broadband footprint.
Clark County is currently exploring the creation of our own program to invest in broadband infrastructure and adoption in high-need communities. This includes the County’s recent solicitation of submittals through a Request for Qualification (RFQ) from firms equipped to expand broadband infrastructure and internet services on an as-needed basis.
Clark County remains committed to supporting the State’s High Speed Nevada (HSNV) Initiative, and potential applicants to Nevada’s statewide Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program at the County level to meet the following goals:
- Maximizing the likelihood of successful BEAD applications to reach all eligible areas in Clark County;
- Coordinate the use of BEAD and County investments to maximize reach and avoid duplication of efforts; and
- Leverage BEAD and County-level funding for greater private investment in broadband infrastructure in Clark County.
Please visit the Office of Science, Innovation and Technology (OSIT) for more details about Nevada’s BEAD program and the High Speed Nevada (HSNV) Initiative dashboard.
