Citizen Participation
The Community Housing Office supports and encourages active citizen engagement and participation in all aspects of our HUD programs. For more details, please refer to our Citizen Participation Plan FY2025-2029.
Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC)
In 1982, when Community Resources Management (now known as the Community Housing Office) began implementing the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, the Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) was created. This citizen committee plays a vital role in reviewing and recommending projects to the Board of County Commissioners for federal, state, and local funding consideration.
The committee consists of more than 30 members, including town board representatives, at-large community members appointed by the Board of Commissioners, and representatives selected by our consortium members CDAC convenes several times annually in the winter and early spring to provide HUD funding recommendations for the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and the HOME/AAHTF Program.
