The Constable's Office is one of the oldest law enforcement agencies in the state of Nevada. The Constable is elected and serves a four-year term.

Under state law, the Constable is a peace officer, serving a vital role in the legal process by, among other responsibilities, executing court orders in civil and criminal matters, small claims, and evictions.
