Delgado Lopez, Jr. was elected North Las Vegas Constable in November 2022.
Prior to being elected, Lopez was a North Las Vegas Deputy City Marshal with the North Las Vegas Municipal Court and Police Department. As Deputy City Marshal, Lopez's responsibilities included serving felony and misdemeanor warrants, extraditing felons to and from Nevada, locating victims of crimes in cases, transporting inmates, assisting North Las Vegas patrol officers with transports and pickups of suspects. Additionally, Lopez served as a Deputy Court Marshal for the Eighth Judicial District Court and as an Administrative Deputy Court Marshal. He holds a Peace Officers' Standards and Training certification and is a certified FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot.
Born to a military family, Lopez lived many places during his youth, ultimately graduating from Ellison High School in 1981 in Killeen Texas, just outside the Fort Hood Army Installation. In 1982, Lopez followed in the footsteps of his military father and joined the United States Air Force. After 21 1/2 years of active-duty which included a tour in Desert Storm, six Air Force Commendation Medals and four Air Force Achievement Medals, he retired and was honorably discharged as a Technical Sergeant in November 2003.
Lopez has a bachelor's degree in Public Safety with a specialization in Homeland Security from Capella University. He graduated cum laude in June 2018. He is married to wife, Victoria and has two children. The couple welcomed their first grandson in 2021.
