The next Death Investigator Training Course is scheduled for: October 7, 2023 - November 18, 2023.


Please note:
The classes will be held on Saturdays and labs will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Schedule subject to change based on case load and instructor availability.

The Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner is pleased to offer a Death Investigator Training Course intended to introduce attendees to the field of medicolegal death investigation. This course was created for people with a sincere career interest in medicolegal death investigations and will provide valuable hands-on experience and instruction from experienced investigators.

Applications will be accepted from now until September 22, 2023 and interviews will be held on September 30, 2023.  Due to the volume of applications we receive, candidates who are not progressing to the interview phase will NOT be contacted or notified of their status.  Please do not contact our main office as those lines are reserved for the families we serve.

Applications will be reviewed individually and qualified candidates will be contacted for an interview.  If selected for the Training Course, you must attend every class and lab, no exceptions.
Successful completion of this course is not a guarantee of employment. Accepted applicants must submit to and successfully pass a criminal background check in the final stage of the application procedure.Attendees may be exposed to decedents in various stages of decomposition, infectious and contagious disease, noxious fumes, and hazardous materials. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided to all attendees during lab exercises; attendees are required to use the provided PPE and must follow all health and safety guidelines.
