Inactivated Voter Data

Inactivated Voter Data

Overview

The Inactivated Voter file contains voter registration information of voters whose records were inactivated as a result of non-valid addresses identified during ongoing registration activities as well as the biennial mailing of Voter Registration Cards described below. Persons who believe that they were inactivated in error should verify the registration information in their records by logging in to Registered Voter Services and selecting "View My Registration Information" from the dropdown menu. If the address listed is correct, call the Election Department at (702) 455-VOTE (8683). If the address is no longer current, then select "Change My Address" from the dropdown menu. After your address is updated, you will be placed on active status.

At the beginning of every federal election year, the Election Department mails every “active” registered voter a new voter registration card. If the Postal Service notifies the Election Department that the voter has moved from the address at which he/she registered or if non-forwardable election mail is returned as undeliverable, the voter is sent a forwardable postcard asking the voter to update his/her address. If the voter does not respond within 30 days, he/she is placed on "inactive" status. The individual is still eligible to vote (if he/she still lives in Clark County), but the address on file is not correct and the Election Department will no longer send election-related materials to that individual.

In accordance with the requirements and procedures of the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 and NRS 293.530, voters were inactivated as follows:

  • On November 6, 2023, 33,101 voters were designated as INACTIVE.
