Marci Henson, Director of Environment & Sustainability for Clark County welcomed Transportation Electrification Working Group members and interested parties. Marie Steele, VP of Electrification and Energy Services for NV Energy presented on the Sept. 1, 2022 filing of their Transportation Electrification Plan with discussion from the Working Group. April Bolduc from S Curve Strategies presented a Working Group update, as well as led the discussion on economic and workforce development. The Working Group also discussed the EV Infrastructure model ordinance approved by the City of Tuscon and next steps in the County's model ordinance efforts.

Marci Henson, Director of Environment & Sustainability for Clark County welcomed Transportation Electrification Working Group members and interested parties. April Bolduc from S Curve Strategies presented a transportation electrification industry update on national and regional electric vehicle market share. She also presented new electric vehicle data by city and updated the Working Group on their progress to date. The Working Group then discussed a potential list of recommendations to the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada on best practices for electric vehicle growth.

Marci Henson, Director of Environment & Sustainability for Clark County welcomed Transportation Electrification Working Group members and interested parties. April Bolduc from S Curve Strategies presented the Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Model Ordinance cost estimate survey results. A discussion was held, and the Working Group reviewed the next steps for submission of their charging infrastructure cost estimates. The estimates are due Sept. 23.

Marci Henson, Director of Environment & Sustainability for Clark County welcomed Transportation Electrification Working Group members and interested parties. April Bolduc from S Curve Strategies provided a Working Group update. City of Orlando Director of the Office of Sustainability & Resilience Chris Castro, LEED GA, presented on the city's new Electric Vehicle Readiness Code. In August 2021, City Council approved the code that requires new construction projects to meet current EV charging needs through the installation of charging stations. It also requires preparation for future demand with “EV Capable” parking spaces. The code became effective January 1, 2022.

Marci Henson, Director of Environment & Sustainability for Clark County welcomed Transportation Electrification Working Group members and interested parties. She presented an update of the All-In Clark County Sustainability & Climate Action Plan. April Bolduc of S Curve Strategies led the discussion of an electric vehicle charging model ordinance for the County and municipalities. Clark County Fellow Nicole Wargo provided an overview of next steps for the Clean Cities Coalition.

During this first in-person meeting, Marci Henson, Director of Environment & Sustainability for Clark County welcomed Transportation Electrification Working Group members and interested parties. Karen Olesky from the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada discussed their role in accelerating transportation electrification. Randy Schimka from S Curve Strategies gave an overview of best practices for site electric vehicle charging locations. April Bolduc from S Curve Strategies presented on next steps for the Clark County Regional Transportation Electrification Strategy. There was an opportunity to provide public comment and ask questions about the information presented. The Working Group toured a showcase of electric vehicles.

During this meeting, Clark County welcomed Transportation Electrification Working Group members and interested parties. Jared Walker from The Electrification Coalition discussed the key steps for successful fleet electrification. Randy Schimka from S Curve Strategies gave an overview of best practices for installing public electric vehicle charging. April Bolduc from S Curve Strategies presented on the region’s current number of electric vehicles and public chargers, as well as projections for goal-setting to reach the State’s net-zero by 2050 goal. There was an opportunity to provide public comment and ask questions about the information presented.

Marci Henson, Director of Environment & Sustainability for Clark County welcomed Transportation Electrification Working Group members and interested parties. April Bolduc from S Curve Strategies presented on an overview of the Working Group’s goals and survey results, as well as transportation electrification planning. Randy Schimka from S Curve Strategies gave an overview of best practices for installing electric vehicle charging at multifamily communities. Greg Lovato from the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection provided an overview of the VW EV Grant funding available for fleets looking to electrify. There was an opportunity to provide public comment and ask questions about the information presented.

Meeting #1

12/9/21, 2-4 pm, held virtually

Clark County hosted the first meeting on December 9, 2021.  During this meeting, the County welcomed members and interested parties and provided an overview of the working group's role and expected outcomes.  Marci Henson, Director of Environment & Sustainability presented on the County's goals related to air quality and greenhouse gas emission reductions.  Randy Schimka from S. Curve Strategies gave an overview of electric vehicles.  Marie Steele, Director of Electrification for Nevada Energy, provided an overview of the energy grid and energy planning for electric vehicles and incentive programs.  April Bolduc from S Curve Strategies presented on transportation electrification planning.  There was an opportunity to provide public comment and weigh on the information presented.
