Sean Collins was promoted to Deputy Fire Chief of Training for the Clark County Fire Department (CCFD) in Nevada in January 2025. In this leadership role, he is responsible for overseeing all fire and emergency medical services (EMS) training, managing recruitment efforts, and providing critical support to CCFD operations.
A lifelong resident of Southern Nevada and proud graduate of the Clark County School District, Chief Collins has deep roots in the community he serves. His passion for public service was shaped early on by the influence of his family, coaches, and mentors, all of whom instilled in him a strong belief in the transformative power of service to build thriving communities and meaningful lives.
Prior to his current appointment, Chief Collins served as the Assistant Fire Chief of EMS and, before that, as the department’s Emergency Medical Services Coordinator. In both roles, he was instrumental in designing and implementing the EMS Captain positions. He also served as a liaison with external agencies and led operational planning for large-scale events such as the Electric Daisy Carnival, New Year’s Eve celebrations, the Las Vegas Grand Prix (Formula 1), and Super Bowl LVIII.
Throughout his career, Chief Collins has held the ranks of Firefighter, Fire Engineer, Captain, EMS Coordinator, and Assistant Fire Chief. He contributed to department training programs, including leading the instruction of three Fire Engineer academies and overseeing the development and administration of the Fire Engineer promotional exam. He continues to maintain his Paramedic license.
Chief Collins holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Public Policy from American Public University. Outside of work, he is a devoted husband and father who dedicates his time to family and community.
