Asst. Chief Mack Travis

Mack Travis was promoted to Assistant Chief of Recruiting on Sept. 5, 2022.  Prior to his promotion, Chief Travis held the ranks of captain, engineer and firefighter. Chief Travis has been with the County Fire Department since 2001. He is a native Nevadan, who graduated from Valley High School Class of 1988 before earning his bachelor’s in Social Welfare from University of California, Berkeley in 1993. Presently, he is pursuing his master’s in Leadership from Grand Canyon University.  Previously he graduated from the Carl Holmes Executive Development Institute as well as the Clark County Management Academy. Throughout his career, he has remained active in the community as a coach, mentor and volunteer.  His hobbies include weightlifting and restoring classic vehicles. He and his lovely wife, Pamelisa, share five children and seven grandchildren.
