Chief Billy Samuels

Fire Chief Billy Samuels
Chief Billy Samuels is a lifelong Las Vegas resident dedicated to public service, community safety, and emergency response leadership. A proud graduate of Valley High School (Class of 1993), he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a Master of Science in Crisis and Emergency Management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Chief Samuels began his career with the Clark County Fire Department in 2001. Over the years, he rose through the ranks with distinction—becoming a paramedic in 2003, an engineer in 2005, a captain in 2011, a battalion chief in 2019, and deputy fire chief in 2020. In 2024, he was appointed Fire Chief, a role in which he continues to serve with vision, compassion, and a deep commitment to excellence.

Following the tragic events of October 1, he oversaw operations for the Family Assistance Center, helping to coordinate support and resources for victims and families. He has also served as a member of the Clark County Honor Guard, honoring those who have served with dignity and respect.

When not in uniform, Chief Samuels enjoys the great outdoors—especially skiing and hiking. He and his wife Amanda share a vibrant, blended family with five children.
