Fire Chief Billy Samuels was born and raised in Las Vegas, graduated from Valley High School in 1993, received a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Nevada, Reno and a Master’s of Science in Crisis and Emergency Management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
He began his career as a firefighter with Clark County Fire in 2001, became a paramedic in 2003, transitioned to engineer in 2005, and promoted to captain in 2011, battalion chief in 2019, and deputy chief in 2020. Chief Samuels also was a member of the Clark County Honor Guard. Chief Samuels ran the Operations of the Family Assistance Center after 1 October, under the direction of then Deputy Chief Steinbeck. Chief Samuels’ hobbies include skiing, hiking and anything outdoors. He is married to Amanda and they are a blended family with five children.
