In March 2025, Chief Dan Bushkin was promoted to Assistant Fire Chief of Special Events for the Clark County Fire Department. In this role, he leads the planning, coordination, and oversight of fire and life safety operations for major special events across the county, including large-scale festivals, concerts, and international sporting events. He collaborates with internal divisions, external agencies, and stakeholders to ensure strategic readiness, multi-agency response integration, and the safety of residents and millions of visitors.
Chief Bushkin is a proven leader, with extensive command experience and expertise in fire administration. He is adept at managing major incidents and enforcing fire safety protocols. With over 18 years of exemplary service within the Clark County Fire Department, Chief Bushkin has advanced through the ranks, having held positions as Fire Inspector and Deputy Fire Marshal. He also served as a firefighter in the United States Air Force and subsequently with the Department of Defense, where he commanded and supervised a team of firefighters during operations encompassing EMS incidents, emergency responses, and critical suppression activities.
Chief Bushkin is an alumnus of the College of Southern Nevada, where he earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Fire and Emergency Services Administration, as well as an associate’s degree in Fire Science Technology.
