Department History

The Clark County Fire Department was established in 1953 with jurisdiction over 8,061 square miles that included the world famous Las Vegas Strip. Clark is the nation's 14th largest county and provides extensive regional fire service to more than 2.3 million residents and an estimated 46 million visitors annually. Our Mission is to protect lives, property and the environment by providing the highest level of comprehensive fire suppression, emergency medical services, hazardous material response, and safety education to Southern Nevada communities and visitors of Clark County. We do this by exemplifying our Values and Principles which are to Respond with Integrity and Serve with Commitment and Compassion.
