Deputy Fire Chief Rian Glassford

Rian Glassford_MODDeputy Fire Chief Rian Glassford has been with the CCFD for over 23 years. Rian earned his Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University, and his B.S. degree in Political Science from Pepperdine University. In addition, he completed the Executive Fire Officer Program (EFO) from the National Fire Academy and teaches officer development for new Company Officers. Clark County currently has 16 of the 20 largest hotels in the world located in its jurisdiction (The Las Vegas Strip). Rian is a charter member of the Southern Nevada Fire Operation (SNFO) High-Rise Committee and is intimately involved in all high-rise related areas including: writing and maintaining response plans, pre-planning, hose pack deployment and EMS response.

In 2017, Rian was the Deputy Incident Commander of the Family Assistance Center (FAC) after the 1-October mass casualty shooting that took the lives of 58 people. In 2020, Rian designed and implemented the first mass testing site in Southern Nevada in response to the Covid19 pandemic. In 2020 he assisted his community by becoming the Multiagency Coordination Group (MAC) Operations Section Chief whose primary mission was to coordinate the vaccination efforts in Southern Nevada. During his time as the MAC Section Chief Clark County distributed over a million vaccines.

Rian has been married to his wife Beth for over 20 years. They have two beautiful children and two drooling Saint Bernards.
