Henderson Justice Courts hears general civil cases (amounts up to $15,000), small claims (up to $10,000), summary eviction cases, and requests for temporary and extended protective orders (stalking and harassment).
Instructions to Justice Court Civil Case Litigants: If you wish to request the services of a Court Reporter, it will be necessary for you to make arrangements at least one week in advance of the hearing on your case. The Court Reporter records the testimony and evidence in your case. If you decide to appeal the decision of the Justice Court, a judge considering an appeal reviews only the transcript of the trial in determining whether to affirm or reverse the Justice Court decision.
