Celebrating History, Inspiring Community

In honor of America’s 250th anniversary, Clark County Parks & Recreation’s Clark County Museum and Public Arts Office is transforming up to 20 utility signal boxes into vibrant works of art across our community. Each box will tell a unique story, connecting local, state, and national history, and celebrating the people and moments that make Clark County special.

About the Project

The America 250 Signal Box Project aims to:

Each signal box will feature historical photos and captivating true stories about our community, submitted by people like you, along with interactive QR codes that link to additional historical information and digital content.

Meet the Historian

ANGIE SHENOUDA

Angie Shenouda is a public historian passionate about bringing underrepresented histories to light. Her most recent work included updating interpretive panel text for the Clark County Museum’s Beckley House exhibit, highlighting Indigenous contributions to the early development of Las Vegas.

Angie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Gender and Sexuality Studies from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) in 2024, which shaped her interdisciplinary approach to historical research. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in History at UNLV and expects to graduate Fall 2026, with plans to continue public history projects in her hometown of Las Vegas.

Meet the Graphics

LAURA SILVA

Laura Silva brings over two decades of experience in visual communications, strategic planning, and operational management, which prepared her for the role of Director of Operations at MYS Firm. Her diverse graphic portfolio includes statewide media campaigns, government communications, and high-profile projects—demonstrating her expertise in both creative and operational capacities.

Her academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from San Diego State University and a Master of Arts in Social Innovation from the University of San Diego’s Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies, where she focused on researching and developing how to provide visual communication that provides positive social impact through a lens of inclusivity.

Clark County Museum, one of the oldest museums in the Las Vegas Valley, was established in 1968. The museum collects, preserves, and shares the region's stories through engaging exhibits and educational programs. Visitors can explore fascinating artifacts, historic buildings, and a recreated streetscape from the early 1900s, offering a glimpse into daily life in Southern Nevada’s past. Special events and hands-on activities make it a destination for all ages to connect with local history.
