West of the Las Vegas Strip, between Twain Avenue, University Avenue, and Decatur Boulevard

Officially Designated as a Cultural District in 2023

Designated in 2023, Little Ethiopia became the first cultural district in Clark County, honoring a community built by refugees who fled conflict in the late 1970s. Early Ethiopian immigrants helped transform Las Vegas into a vibrant cultural hub, beginning with landmarks such as the Ethiopian grocery store, Shola Market.

Today, over 40,000 Ethiopians and Eritreans call the district home, and are supported by a thriving network of local businesses. Through their entrepreneurial spirit and dedication, residents have built a vibrant "city within a city" that continues to enrich Clark County and the American West.
