Women of Clark County
Lily Fong
1925 - 2002
Lilly Fong demonstrated a lifelong commitment to education. Influenced by her parents, she valued education from an early age. Born in Arizona, Fong spent her early years between the United States and China before returning to the U.S. in 1937. After earning a degree from Arizona State University in Tempe, she became the first Asian American teacher in the Clark County School District. Together with her husband, Wing, she made meaningful financial contributions to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Clark County Community College, and various scholarship funds.
