Poster Art Exhibit Celebrates Winchester’s Life in Death Festival
October 7 – November 3, 2022

Have you already made plans to attend this year’s Life in Death Festival at Winchester Park? When you come, don’t miss our tribute exhibition of “Life in Death Festival Posters”, inside Winchester Dondero Cultural Center, on display October 7 – November 3, 2022.
“Life in Death: Day of the Dead”, which is Clark County’s longest continuously running Day of the Dead celebration, explores and reflects the cultural traditions related to the Mexican holiday of El Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. Winchester Wall Gallery celebrates and illustrates that history through an exhibition of commemorative poster art from past Life in Death festivals.

In 2003, when this annual two-day cultural festival was moved to Winchester Park and re-christened as the “Life in Death Festival”, our cultural stage was set. With the relocation, in addition to the presented offerings for the dead (ofrendas), a community exhibit of art in the Winchester Gallery, music and folkloric dance, and a contest of traditional poems (calaveras or “skulls”), became part of the festival’s activities.

Over the past 21 seasons, this colorful and free public event has become known as a signature part of Winchester’s foundational narrative. Join us and participate in this community’s cultural displays & traditions, art exhibitions, activities, performances, craft sales and food vendors at Winchester Cultural Center and Park.

Winchester Dondero Cultural Center, 3130 S McLeod Drive, is open to the public Tuesdays through Saturdays, 9am – 8pm.
