A Couple of Notes from the Artists -
Lisa Wright’s BLACK KALEIDOSCOPE is a celebration of Black diversity through portraiture with the mission to promote positive conversations about race and culture, similarities and differences, uniqueness and unity, beauty, acceptance, and self-love. This ongoing personal project is a series of portraits featuring Las Vegas community members with total or partial African ancestry. The subjects are asked to infuse their personalities, style of dress, etc., into their portraits, thereby deciding how he/she/they should be authentically represented.

The art of the Sistas That Paint (Karena and Angela Graham) speaks on social injustices surrounding our communities and the world. The sister-duo artists take inspiration from Basquiat. Some of their mixed media canvases, showcased in this exhibition, are based on controversial cartoons from the early 1900s, as well as the Little Black Sambo and Topsy characters.

This Winchester Wall exhibition runs from February 1st - February 28th, 2023. The event is free to attend and open to the public, Tuesdays – Saturdays, from 9am to 8pm, with a gallery reception on Friday, February 3rd at 5pm.
