About the Artist
Amanda Weeks is a self-taught artist from Las Vegas that likes to dabble in multiple mediums. As her skills continue to grow so does her curiosity to utilize different mediums for added texture and impact. Amanda considers soft pastel to be the most intimate and romantic medium.

Her artwork is influenced by the colorfulness of the city, the quietness of early mornings, music, and the excitement of uninterrupted family time. Her goal is to have her audience feel the essence of love, freedom, and togetherness that she puts into every piece she creates. Amanda is especially interested in self-discovery through her artistic practice. Art is a meditation used to pinpoint her emotions. It is a place where everything makes sense and chaos is organized.

About the Exhibition:

"Tales of the Soul and the Perception of Change” is a group of mixed media works that showcases the fight against ageism and the exploration of fleeting beauty. Experience the power of large scale works that confront the unavoidable societal issue of age discrimination with a soft pastel palette. These works with vibrant colors and heavy use of black not only evoke emotion, but challenge perceptions and inspire reflection on the beauty and complexities of aging.

“We all wear so many hats in society. We sometimes tend to forget who we are deep down on the inside. As we age, we find ourselves again and again as we live many lives in one human experience. Hopefully my art will shine light upon the beauty of just being. We are all to be valued and respected. I hope the community will find peace, understanding, and love in every one of my works of art.”
