Artist Teams - Erin Stellmon, Jarret Keene

Erin Stellmon is a visual artist that employs multiple mediums in her work including collage, photography, drawing and sculpture.  Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, she currently lives and works in Las Vegas, NV.  

She holds a BFA in fine art from Parsons School of Design in New York and an MFA in visual arts from University of Nevada Las Vegas.  

Her work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Nevada and New York City and group exhibitions in California and Texas.  Awards include residency fellowships at Hall Farm Center for Arts and Education in 2001 and 2003 and UNLV's Outstanding Graduate Student Award 2007. Recent projects include 2009's Atomic Passage, a collaboration with artists Danielle Kelly, Adam Morrey and Aaron Sheppard for the City of Las Vegas Arts Commission to create the first public art project where artists' concepts were integrated into the engineering infrastructure of a Public Works streetscape; Clark County, Nevada's ZAP!, completed in 2006, in which selected artists painted utility boxes throughout the community; and Discover Las Vegas, completed in 2005, a mural painted at The Lied Discovery Children’s Museum as part of the City of 100 Murals project.  

Stellmon is currently employed as the Media Coordinator for The Las Vegas Neon Museum and Boneyard.

Jarret Keene is a music critic for Vegas Seven magazine. He has edited several books, including Las Vegas Noir, The Underground Guide to Las Vegas, and The Killers: Destiny Is Calling Me—The Untold Story of America's Hottest Rock Band. His primitive nuclear doom metal group Dead Neon terrorizes the dive bars of Sin City.

Jarret Keene performs “MEGASPRAWLER” written in conversation with Erin Stellmon’s work “MEGASPRAWLER”, a mixed media sculpture in the “10 x 10” exhibition at the Government Center Rotunda Gallery. The exhibit partners visual artists and writers in celebration of the 10-year anniversary of the Vegas Valley Book Festival. On view October 24- December 2.  Public reception, readings and performances on Friday, November 4 between 6-8 PM. Clark County Government Center 500 Grand Central Parkway, Las Vegas.
