Clark County Public Art presents “Alchemy,” a juried group art exhibition featuring metals and metallic materials. Find gold leaf embellished into patterns, rusted patina clutching to antique joints, and swirls of pigment that glimmer in the light. Old objects given new luster and portraits emblazoned with striking drama. 14 artists have been chosen to display their talents at “Alchemy” which will be on display Monday, November 8, 2021 through Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the Clark County Government Center Rotunda Gallery located at 500 S. Grand Central Pkwy. An artist reception will be held on Thursday, January 6 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

“This group of work is so fun to explore.  There's such a variety of shimmering details to find,” said Commissioner Miller. “It’s the perfect group of artworks to help usher us into the next year.”

The show has been juried by Dale Mathis, a self-taught multi-media Las Vegas artist showing his work in galleries and collections around the world. His work is the result of intense detail and obsessive imagination, powerful mechanical sculptures that bend and twist easily despite their structural material. He also owns a fabrication business that offers design and consultation services in graphics, 3D printing, casting, and molding.
Selected artists include Dan Brady, Haide Callejas, Nicole Cochener, Glynn Galloway, Nancy Good, Danny Jacobs, Vanessa Maciel, Bex Nikols, Julie Okabayashi, D.K. Sole, Shalena Sutter, Larry Wade, Elizabeth Woods & Susan Z.
