Krystal Ramirez's medium for this is exhibit is the power and unlimited potential of paper and words. By way of repetition, and by constructing unfinished thoughts, Ramirez wishes for her audience to reflect on the way these sentences may begin and/or end. Krystal seeks for her audience to engage with her work by exploring the effects of language as subjective experience, and the ever-evolving sense of personal identity.

The sculptural floating panel of this exhibit will hover over its audience, similar to a large tower, and will give rotunda visitors the opportunity to walk around it. The force of this show relies on the effect of the displayed phrase, allowing its audiences to inject their own personal experiences to the work.

Krystal Ramirez is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Las Vegas. She received her Bachelor's of Fine Arts in 2009 at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Her practice alternates between drawing, installation and photography. Her sculptural work is created through a process that combines craft/minimalism and is accomplished by repetition and labor intensive manual fabrication. Influences for her work are drawn from Art History, Semiotics and her Chicana identity. Krystal has exhibited work at the Contemporary Arts Center, Donna Beam Gallery of Fine Art and the Nevada Art Museum.
