Join us at the Clark County Government Center for a celebration of the Afrodiaspora. The Mother's Roots features an interwoven history of resistance, upliftment, and liberation by the artists through their work. They are not represented by borders, but by a shared legacy and common experience. Although bonded by lineage, the artists in this exhibition are very diverse and imagine different paths and visions for the future. Artists created works that honor their heritage and portray cohesive narratives of a shared history. Come to this event and celebrate all the shades of Black that come from the roots of the Mother. This art exhibition is juried by Erica Vital-Lazare, a multi-talented artist and professor of creative writing and Marginalized Voices in Dystopian Literature at the College of Southern Nevada. She has curated exhibitions such as Obsidian & Neon: Building Black Life and Identity in Las Vegas, a traveling exhibit, and Seeing/Seen at the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art as a part of the Womxn of Color Arts Festival.
