Jamie Zepeda is an artist from Huntington Park, California, currently based in Las Vegas, Nevada. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drawing, Painting, and Printmaking from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Zepeda’s work draws influence from her cultural background, particularly the state of Michoacán, Mexico, and the Southwest region of the United States. Her current practice explores a fusion of Mexican folk art and Western art, depicting subjects such as vaqueros, folklórico dancers, mariachis, Día de los Muertos, and other Mexican folk traditions.
Zepeda has participated in public art projects including Clark County’s ZAP! Project and has conducted free community art workshops for local residents through various arts and recreation programs throughout the Las Vegas Valley. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and cultural institutions across the region for seven years. Six of her artworks have been acquired by the City of Las Vegas for its permanent art collection and are on display at the East Las Vegas Community Center. She has also presented solo exhibitions, including a recent exhibition at the East Las Vegas Library.
Through her work and community involvement, Zepeda continues to explore cultural identity, place, and the preservation of artistic traditions through contemporary painting and mixed-media practices.
