Come celebrate the Mexican holiday, El Día de los Muertos and explore its cultural traditions that honor both life and death. Culturally, Death is usually seen through the lens of comedy for the living and reverence for the departed. The artists in this exhibition look at the significance of Death and how it has applied to their lives taking into consideration the dichotomy bridging the dead and the living. Enjoy the multitude of mediums used for this exhibition and explore what Clark County artists have to offer on El Día de los Muertos!
Vengan a celebrar El Día de los Muertos, y exploren las tradiciones culturales que honran tanto la vida como la muerte. La Muerte, culturalmente, se ve a través de la lente de la comedia para los vivos y la reverencia por los difuntos. Los artistas de esta exposición analizan el significado de la Muerte y cómo se ha aplicado a sus vidas, tomando en consideración la dicotomía que une a los muertos y los vivos. ¡Disfruten de la multitud de medios utilizados para esta zexposición y exploren lo que los artistas del Clark County tienen para ofrecer en El Día de los Muertos!

This exhibition is juried by Sergio Salgado, a Chicano artist born and raised in East Las Vegas, Nevada. He holds degrees in Graphic Design and Art History, but most of his education has come through his career as a photographer and community leader. Mr. Salgado brings over 25 years of experience as a professional photographer and fifteen years of teaching university and secondary classes.
El jurado, Sergio Salgado, es un artista chicano nacido y criado en East Las Vegas, Nevada. Tiene licenciatura en Diseño Gráfico e Historia del Arte, pero la mayor parte de su educación se debe a su carrera como fotógrafo y líder comunitario. El Sr. Salgado aporta más de 25 años de experiencia como fotógrafo profesional y quince años de docencia universitaria y secundaria.
