Artist reception on Friday, October 19 from 5:30-7:30pm

"He Said… She Said…", a multimedia installation focusing on 2016 Presidential Campaign, will be on display from Tuesday, August 29th through Friday, October 21, 2016 at Winchester Cultural Center Gallery, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. An artist reception will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 19th.

The exhibit looks at the spectacle of the electoral process during a presidential election. The artist says, "The ideal of an informed electorate is often cited as an underlying principle of democracy. Yet, making sense of electoral politics, especially during a presidential election, is often challenging and confusing."
Throughout an election cycle, potential voters are flooded with competing and conflicting narratives that are often sensationalized. Amid these mixed messages, Scott asks what it means to be informed, what counts as information, and where good information may be obtained.

Chad Scott is an interdisciplinary artist whose work engages social, cultural, and political issues.
