As we transition into Spring, Clark County Public Arts presents Eat Your Heart Out, where 26 artists interpret passions of the heart from their own lives. Artworks compare the comforts and betrayals of love across walls and place-settings: loves lost, loves found, and loves burning. Experience these memories from friendships and keepsakes from lovers at the Winchester-Dondero Cultural Center Gallery February 14 through March 25, 2022. A public reception will be held Tuesday, February 22, 5:00-7:00 PM.
Exhibiting artists include Bailey Anderson, Laura Brennan, Diane Bush, Haide Callejas, Valerie Caña, Katie Castro, Nicole Cochener, Aaron Cowan, Alexis Durden, Charlene Elma, Deron Fisher, Jonathan Virginia Green, Martin Hackett, Bindia Hallauer, Ron Harris III, Monica James, Jessica Joy, Nanako Kono, Melanie La May, Debbie Lambin, Keeva Lough, Luvriot, Lyn Marie, Sydney Martinez, Kimberly Miller, and Cristina Paulos.
This show has been juried by Tiffany Lin, an interdisciplinary artist currently based in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her work examines how power is expressed through the subtext of American vernacular. Through a practice that spans drawing, installation, and social practice, Lin demonstrates how bureaucratic systems and language marks non-white bodies as conditional. Lin teaches in the Department of Art at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas as a visiting Assistant Professor.
