Clark County Public Art presents “Emotional Weather,” showcasing very personal and perceptive art from around Clark County and the United States. These artworks respond to how the past year has affected our lives as artists, as individuals, and as a community. With an incredible turnout, the selected pieces take on themes of self-reflection, adjustment to home-life, isolation, artistic motivation, and optimism.
“As we move back into more normal life, it's important to reflect on what our communities have faced over the pandemic,” said Commissioner Tick Segerblom. “These artists have done a wonderful job of expressing their lived experiences of the past year through creativity.”
This exhibition has been juried by local artist and arts administrator Alisha Kerlin. A graduate of the Milton Avery Graduate School of Arts, Bard College (MFA), and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (BFA), Kerlin's own artwork has been shown at institutions ranging from P3Studio at The Cosmopolitan, Las Vegas, to the Museum of Modern Art's PS1 Museum in New York. She lives and works in Las Vegas, Nevada with her family. Kerlin is the Executive Director of the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art.
