September 5, 2017 – October 12, 2017
Winchester Cultural Center Gallery, 3130 McLeod Drive,
Las Vegas, NV 89121
Opening Reception on Friday, September 8 from
5:30 – 7:30 pm
"Urban Naturalism, Again" continues Jennifer Kleven's investigation of how humans adapt to technology. Working with manipulated photographs, she highlights the absurdity of the methods telecommunication companies use to insert nature back into the lives of city dwellers and poses the question, is it important for the object to be authentic or can appearances fulfill needs?
Jennifer Kleven is a Las Vegas native and received her Bachelors of Fine Arts in 2009 at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. She operated Kleven Contemporary exhibiting emerging artists in downtown Las Vegas from 2010- 2013. She's exhibited at Donna Beam Fine Art Gallery and the Jesse Metcalf Gallery at UNLV, Contemporary Arts Center, Trifecta and CounterSpace in Las Vegas. Her history as a Las Vegas native has led her on a discovery of perfect unrealities and false identities. Currently, she works at the Neon Museum and splits her artistic time with photography, ceramics, and plants.
