Inkwell Poetry is excited to announce our October mentor former Clark County Poet Laureate Angela Brommel and her workshop “What Can a Poem Do? From Literary Publication to Public Humanities.”
What happens when a poem moves beyond the page and into public life? In this workshop with former Clark County Poet Laureate Angela M. Brommel, we will explore how poets can extend their work through public art, community engagement, interdisciplinary collaboration, cultural programming, and place-based projects. Drawing on examples from Brommel’s own poetry and public humanities practice, we will consider how poets can connect their writing with
communities, institutions, landscapes, and other art forms. Participants will leave with practical strategies for imagining new audiences, partnerships, and possibilities for their own poems.
The presentation will be followed by a one-hour Q&A segment where attendees can ask Angela questions about the topics covered as well as receive feedback on their own writing throughout the workshop. Announcements of Clark County current and future opportunities, events, and services will close out the workshop. Attendees will receive a copy of the announcements through email. This workshop will be recorded.
