Radiance Rising by
Eric Vozzola
Bathed in color and motion, Radiance Rising celebrates the natural beauty, cultural richness, and daily rhythms that define the community it calls home. Created by artist Eric Vozzola, the mural transforms the pulse of local life into a symphony of form and light, an artwork that sings as much as it shines.
Before the mural’s creation, Clark County partnered with the talented group The Songbulders to engage the community. Through surveys, conversations, and a songwriting workshop event with visitors of the Hollywood Recreation Center, they gathered stories and sentiments that inspired an original song, “We love this City.”
Drawing from that song’s melodies of unity, pride, and connection, Vozzola translated its spirit into bold geometries and layered abstractions. “Every visual detail in the mural corresponds with a sentiment expressed in the song,” the artist explains.
The mural depicts a dynamic roadrunner as an emblem of vitality, movement, and the forward spirit of the community. Beneath a radiant sun, interlocking hands convey unity, compassion, and shared purpose, grounding the work in human connection. Around these figures, circular motifs ripple outward like echoes of sound, their rhythm reflecting the melodies of “We Love This City.” Each curve and burst of color mirrors the harmony and diversity of local life, distinct stories, cultures, and paths intertwined within a single, vibrant whole. At the mural’s core, the Hollywood Recreations Center emerges as the heart of this energy, the gathering place where art, music, and community converge in radiant motion.
As Vozzola reflects, “My design celebrates the natural beauty, cultural richness, and daily rhythms of life in the community…a visual story that both grounded in place and universally inviting.”
Radiance Rising invites viewers to pause, reflect, and feel the energy of a city alive with color, music, and movement – an enduring testament to unity in diversity.
“We Love This City”
By The Song Builders (@thesongbuilders)
Before the mural came to life, Clark County commissioned the talented group The Songbuilders to create an original song that would serve as inspiration for the artwork. To ensure the song reflected the community’s voice, they conducted surveys, held conversations, and led a songwriting workshop at the Hollywood Recreation Center.
Through these interactions, local residents shared their stories, experiences, and sentiments that captured the heart of the neighborhood. These contributions shaped the creation of the song “We love this City” which in turn inspired the themes, imagery, and spirit of the mural itself.
“WE LOVE THIS CITY” SONG LYRICS
Hollywood Rec Center Workshop
VERSE 1
Everything feeling good tonight
Art is a part of life
We are high above the sky
In the valley where the sun does rise!
The landscape such as gorgeous site
Gymnastics, perfect for my life
Piano and the key is right
No strangers here tonight
PRE-HOOK
O-oh-way-o
Let’s take a drive down Hollywood
O-oh-way-o
Got the whole family and it’s all good
O-oh-way-o
There’s no better place
O-oh-way-o
Then where we can stay all day
HOOK/CHORUS
HEY! We love this city
So hot, so pretty
Community…
It’s you and me.
HEY! We love this city
So hot, so pretty
Running Trails at Sunrise
Later we can go down the water slide
POST-HOOK
Hollywood Rec (Pickle Ball)
Hollywood Rec, the Soul of Las Vegas
Hollywood Rec (Fun For All)

VERSE 2
As the schools get out
Here is where they all hang out
There’s no place I’d rather be
There’s Corazón in community
Miss Bridget and Sensei teach
Painting and ka-ra-te
Cool kids like to sing
Bicycles for you and me
PRE-HOOK
O-oh-way-o
Classes make you feel real good
O-oh-way-o
I can be the hero of my hood
O-oh-way-o
Diversity and unity
O-oh-way-o
We come together like family
HOOK/CHORUS
HEY! We love this city
So hot, so pretty
Community…
It’s you and me.

So hot, so pretty
