Zap 9: Lone Mountain, 2017

zap-dedication-2017Clark County's Zap program brought public art to the Lone Mountain region of Las Vegas, in the spring of 2017. In February, the community met selected artists: Natalie Delgado, Gig Depio, Shan Michael Evans, Darian Geenen, Tatiana Hantig, Sush Machida, Mark Melnick, Jerry Misko, Robert Nelson, Spencer Olsen, Bryan Prather, Sean Russell, Holly Rae Vaughn, Eric Vozzola, and Valentin Yordanov, to learn more about the proposed works and provided feedback for artists to consider in their final designs, at Mountain Crest Community Center. The 44 boxes painted during Zap 9, are located primarily along Craig Road, Lone Mountain Road and Durango Drive, and around the Mountain Crest and Lone Mountain Regional Parks (see attached project map).

The Zap 9 Dedication open house was held in early June, 2017.

In addition to the Las Vegas Water District, NV Energy and Clark County Traffic Control (whose utility boxes are being painted), other partnering organizations collaborating with Clark County Parks & Recreation are Mountain Crest Community Center, the Lone Mountain Citizen Advisory Council and Clark County Commissioner Larry Brown.
