On Tuesday, November 16, from 10:00am to 12:00pm PDT, followed by an hour-long question and answer period, guest speaker Roberta Bloom. Her presentation will focus on her experience as a public art coordinator.

Public Art: A Conversation about Curiosity, Courage and Collaboration is Roberta Bloom’s presentation where she invites you in the conversation about experiences in the field of public art. She will touch on topics such as “public art” versus “studio art”, anxiety and creative process, and what “authenticity” means to a public artist.

Roberta Bloom leads the Art in Public Places Program for the city of Aurora, CO, just east of Denver. She holds an MFA in Visual Arts and has worked in the arts as an artist, educator, and/or program manager for over 40 years. Administering a robust public art program calls upon that vast array of skills developed from those experiences including understanding materials and processes; appreciation for concept development and the creative process; communicating to people from many different backgrounds, and finding common goals to build consensus.
