In 2019, more than 500 kids and adults joined Wetlands Park and agency partners for World Migratory Bird Day. Bird walks, crafts, games, and activities taught about the importance of conserving a healthy environment for migratory birds.

World Migratory Bird Day, coordinated by Environment for the Americas, celebrates and brings attention to one of the most important and spectacular events in the Americas - bird migration. More than 600 events and programs hosted annually throughout the United States, Mexico, Central America, and South America introduce the public to migratory birds and ways to conserve them.

In 2019, nearly 300 naturalists of all ages made observations  of plants, mammals, birds, insects, reptiles, and fish. Guest scientists helped with identifications, and observations were entered into a global database, iNaturalist, to help track biodiversity. View the iNaturalist Wetlands Park Nature Journal

Once a naturalist, always a naturalist! You can still add to the Wetlands Park Nature Journal! When you visit Wetlands Park, take photos of the species you see and upload them to iNaturalist for identification help.

Check out the kid-friendly Seek app by iNaturalist and earn badges while making identifications in Wetlands Park or even in your backyard. The app uses image recognition to tell you what plants and animals you are seeing.

Please check back for BioBlitz 2021 information.
