Volunteering at the Park

Become a Wetlands Park volunteer!
Due to COVID-19 concerns, volunteer opportunities are currently limited. We are accepting new volunteers in the following areas:

Wetlands Watch
After a background check and training, Wetlands Watch volunteers walk the Park on their own and report conditions and other observations. Watch volunteers may also pick up trash and remove graffiti.

Information Host
After a background check and training, volunteers are needed to answer phones in the Administration Building Tuesday through Sunday. Limited contact with the public.

Becoming a Volunteer

The first step to becoming a volunteer is to sign up to attend an information class, Get Involved at Wetlands Park, to learn about the program and expectations, as well as an overview of the Park. Following the class, volunteers will schedule a one-on-one interview and complete a Volunteer Application. All volunteers must undergo fingerprinting and a background check, which takes several weeks to complete. Volunteers are asked to make a commitment of seven hours per month and to remain in the program for at least six months. Additional training classes are also required.

Upcoming Volunteer Class:
Saturday, September 12, 3 pm to 4 pm Sign up here.
This introductory class, Get Involved at Wetlands Park, will be held online.
