Explore Wetlands Park on guided walks with a Park naturalist and Certified Interpretive Guide. Winter 2024-25 walks are open to all ages. Fee $5.

Bat Walks
Experience a bat-tastic evening learning about the bats of Clark County Wetlands Park! Enjoy an evening Discovery Walk with a Park Naturalist. Come discover these misunderstood mammals and the important role they play in our ecology under the light of the full moon. Hear them with a bat scanner.
Please wear closed-toe shoes, long sleeves, and pants due to mosquito activity. Remember to bring water, sunscreen, and bug spray.
Ages: 8+ , Fee: $5 per participant

Walk with a Wetlands Park nature guide and a birding expert from Red Rock Audubon Society. Each program begins and ends with an informal social gathering where the session’s topic is discussed and light refreshments are served. Great for beginners and more experienced birders! Ages 10+. Fee $5.

Ekphrastic Poetry Workshop: Poetry Inspired by Art
Clark County Poet Laureate Ms. AyeVee will present a series of ekphrastic poetry workshops, which is a literary interpretation of visual art. Writing experience not required. The workshops will be held in the Spotlight on Nature Gallery.

About the Poet Laureate Ms. AyeVee
Ms.AyeVee is an award-winning Afro-latina Literary Artist from Las Vegas, NV.
She is a woman of many hats with a passion for Poetry. Her work has been featured by the legendary All Def Poetry, Write About Now & Button Poetry. Ms. AyeVee has also been recognized by Las Vegas Book Festival, NPR & The US Congress for advancing the cause of literacy & extraordinary literary achievement. In 2022 Ms. AyeVee was selected as an official TEDx speaker for Las Vegas. She also runs a Las Vegas based poetry organization called, Beyond the Neon (@btnpoetry) that focuses on poetry exclusive events and community outreach. Ms.AyeVee is the 2024-2026 Clark County Poet Laureate & promoting her new poetry collection, Broken Silence.

A beginning and intermediate watercolor trials class that encourages students to explore different watercolor painting techniques. Each class will focus on a specific nature theme/topic.

Wetlands Explorers is a program for tots to young readers, with age-appropriate activities for all participants. Young adventurers explore the Park and learn about plants and animals through fun activities. Wednesday activities are all outdoors; Saturday activities may include indoor activities and always feature outdoor exploration.
Ages 3-8. Parental participation required.
Fee: $5 per child. Program fee is discounted to $4 per child after three sessions per season. Register here.

Programming at Wetlands Park reflects our commitment to connecting people to nature. The unique and amazing resources of the Park are not only important to the residents and visitors in the Las Vegas Valley, but also to wildlife. Join us for one of our educational or recreational programs. Programs are offered to a variety of ages and interests.
Program fees help support continued Wetlands Park programming. Wetlands Park requests 48 hours notice of cancellation prior to start of class for refund of program fees.
