Permit Requests

Wetlands Park contains hundreds of acres of sensitive habitat for wildlife as well as land within a protected archaeological district. Additionally, at least 40 percent of the Park is Federal Land managed by Clark County on behalf of the Bureau of Reclamation. As a result, some activities within the Park are restricted, while others are only allowed by permit. This includes scientific and educational research activities as well as any commercial use (including professional photographers). If you are unsure whether your desired activity requires a permit, contact us at (702)455-7522 or email at wetlands@clarkcountynv.gov.

Research, Sampling, and Collections
In general, visitors wishing to conduct research, monitoring, sampling, and/or collection activities within Wetlands Park that disturb soil, remove rocks, vegetation, or seeds, require contact with waterways, or the handling or removal of plants or animals (including insects and spiders) must seek written approval and permission from Clark County. Visitors who would like to conduct monitoring, sampling, or other research studies, or intend to collect any material from the Park must complete the Research and Collections Permit form for any related activities, including classroom, professional, and personal projects. Permit requests must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the desired activity date.

Activities that require the use of a vehicle(s) or equipment within the boundaries of the Park must also request a vehicle access permit and mirror hangtag to display while on the premises. Complete the Vehicle Access Permit Request for each project requested. Unauthorized vehicles within the Park will be cited and towed at the owner's expense.

Professional Photographers
NOTE: Please submit your requests at least two weeks prior to your planned photo shoot.
Photographers charging clients for photo shoots within Wetlands Park require a Film Permit to do business within the Park. To get started, please complete the Film Permit Application at the Clark County Business Office. Contact the Clark County Film Administrator at filmadministrator@ClarkCountyNV.gov or (702)455-3933 with questions. To receive specific permission from Clark County Parks & Recreation and Wetlands Park management, you must also complete this online form.

Special Uses
Other special uses (including but not limited to paid tour guides, weddings, or private parties) are not authorized in Wetlands Park at this time. For groups interested in visiting the Park, please visit the Group Programs page to make a specific request.
