Military and overseas voters need to submit an FPCA
EACH CALENDAR YEAR
in which they wish to receive a mail/absentee ballot.

DUE DATES AND TIMEFRAMES FOR THE "FEDERAL POST CARD APPLICATION" (FPCA)

Due Dates

MAY 12, 2020 DUE DATE FOR POSTAL MAIL SUBMITTALS: Military and overseas residents must submit an FPCA sent by postal mail for the June 9, 2020 State/Federal Primary Election no later May 12, 2020 (postmark date) to register to vote or update existing registration, and to request a mail/absentee ballot.

JUNE 2, 2020 DUE DATE FOR SUBMITTALS BY E-MAIL AND FAX: Military and overseas residents must submit an FPCA sent by e-mail or fax for the June 9, 2020 State/Federal Primary Election no later than June 2, 2020 (transmission date) to register to vote or update existing registration, and to request a mail/absentee ballot.

Timeframe of When to Expect Your Mail/Absentee Ballot
Delivery of mail ballots begins 45 days before Election Day for all voters. If you request a mail/absentee ballot and do not receive it at least 10 days before Election Day, IMMEDIATELY contact the Clark County Election Department. Do not delay as short timeframes will make it difficult for you to receive, vote and return a mail/absentee ballot by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Voted FPCA Mail/Absentee Ballot Due Date and Time
Due dates for your voted FPCA mail/absentee ballot vary according to how you send it:

  • Postal Mail:  Voted mail/absentee ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by the Election Department on or before the seventh day after Election Day. Previously, the Election Department had to receive voted mail/absentee ballots in its office by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.  That was revised in 2019 by AB345.

  • Electronic Transmission (E-Mail or Fax):  The Election Department must RECEIVE electronically transmitted voted FPCA mail/absentee ballots no later than 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, in order for your ballot to be counted.
