Clark County Commissioner April Becker will formally recognize 11 members of Boy Scout Troop 407 for achieving Scouting’s highest rank, Eagle Scout, during the Board of County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, January 20, at 9 a.m.

Troop 407’s feat is a historic milestone. It marks the first time in Las Vegas and only the second time nationally that a troop has had 11 Scouts achieving the Eagle rank simultaneously. To attain the Eagle rank, a Scout must earn at least 21 merit badges, fulfill leadership roles and display outdoor skills, demonstrate by example the Scout Oath and Law, and complete a comprehensive service project in the community.

The Scouts being honored are Jacob Bennett, Cannon Castor, Ethan Dastrup, Christian Earl, Jackson Hedin, Nixon Hunt, Jack Hyer, Issac Koval, Seth Leedom, Michael Norton, and Luke Robison.

“These young men exemplify the highest standards of dedication, discipline, and leadership,” said Commissioner Becker. “Their unwavering commitment and determination have led to an extraordinary accomplishment. Witnessing them achieve this historic milestone gives me great confidence and hope for the future.”

The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation’s largest and most respected youth development organizations. Its programs are designed to build character, foster responsible citizenship, and promote personal fitness – preparing young people to become capable, ethical leaders in their communities.

The Board of County Commissioners meeting will take place at the Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway, Las Vegas. The meeting will be broadcast live on Clark County Television (CCTV) Channel 4 and livestreamed here.
