The candidate filing period for non-judicial offices in Clark County begins Monday, March 2 and lasts through Friday, March 13, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., except weekends and holidays.
The Clark County Election Department will accept candidate filing paperwork during that period in the Pueblo Room on the 1st floor of the Clark County Government Center (500 Grand Central Parkway, Las Vegas). This filing period does not apply to judicial candidates.
Candidates for the offices of Representative in Congress District 4, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, State Treasurer, State Controller, Attorney General, Assembly District 36, and Board of Regents District 8 need to file at one of the Secretary of State’s locations. Those are the State Legislature Building in Las Vegas (7120 Amigo St., Hearing Room 7, Las Vegas, NV) or in Carson City (101 N. Carson St., Suite 3). Candidates for city offices such as mayor, and city council need to file with their respective cities. Candidates for all other races can file at the Clark County Government Center. The 2026 primary election is on June 9, with early voting from May 23 to June 5. The general election is November 3, with early voting from October 17 to October 30.
Residents are encouraged to check their voter registration status. To check your registration status, enter your information in the Registered Voter Services box on the Election Department website.
