In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, Clark County Parks & Recreation, Clark County Museum and Public Arts Office are excited to announce the launch of the America 250 Signal Box Project, a community-driven public art initiative that will transform up to 20 utility boxes across the county into historical landmarks.
This initiative invites residents to contribute to the project’s development by identifying the local events, milestones, and figures that define Clark County. Selected narratives will be featured on utility boxes, transforming them into accessible historical markers. Scheduled for unveiling across the county ahead of July 2026, these installations aim to educate the public on our shared heritage and encourage further historical exploration.
“This project is about honoring our shared heritage and highlighting the diverse stories that define Clark County,” said Amber Colbert, Museums Administrator, Clark County Parks & Recreation. “We encourage everyone to submit their stories and help us create a living tapestry of our community’s history.”
Community members are invited to submit their ideas through social media using #America250ClarkCounty or by commenting on the official project posts now through March 2. Featured stories will be announced in March, with ongoing updates on the artists and design process shared through summer 2026.
The America 250 Signal Box Project is presented in partnership with the Nevada Commission on Tourism and other local organizations. For more information, visit https://bit.ly/America250ClarkCounty.
