Clark County will host a public outreach meeting to introduce its Office of Sports & Special Events on Feb. 26, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Commissioners' Chambers, 500 S. Grand Central Pkwy.
Established in January 2025, the office serves as a centralized resource for supporting and executing sporting and special events throughout Clark County. The office provides preliminary approval for special events and helps organizers navigate the permitting process across multiple county departments and external agencies.
During the meeting, staff will explain the office's approval processes, share available resources and answer questions from event organizers, community groups and residents interested in hosting special events in Clark County.
“I invite everyone interested in bringing events to Clark County to attend this important meeting,” said Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick. “Our new Office of Sports & Special Events will streamline the process for event organizers and help ensure Clark County continues to host safe, world-class events that benefit our community and economy.”
Under Clark County Code 2.70, special event preliminary approval is required for activities including holiday events, farmers markets, events with 1,000 or more attendees, parades, rodeos and events requiring street closures or traffic control.
