On January 29, 2026, more than 526 staff and volunteers participated in the Point-in-Time (PIT) Count across Clark County and completed roughly 2,021 surveys. Between the above-ground and tunnel counts, teams worked for more than 12 hours collecting data on sheltered and unsheltered individuals experiencing homelessness.

“This year’s Point-in-Time Count reflects a careful, consistent approach to gathering accurate data on homelessness in our community,” said Jamie Sorenson, Clark County Director of Social Services. “We’ve strengthened our process to ensure reliable results, and we’re eager to see what the data will reveal about the challenges people are facing.”

Operational Activity Summary

Background

The Point-in-Time (PIT) Count is a biennial, HUD-mandated effort that provides a single-night snapshot of homelessness. As part of a nationwide initiative, it serves as a primary source of data for measuring homelessness at both national and community levels. In Southern Nevada, the count is coordinated by the Southern Nevada Homelessness Continuum of Care, which brings together local organizations and communities to address homelessness. The last PIT Count in Clark County was conducted in 2024.

Please note: All PIT Count results are subject to HUD review and approval prior to public release. We expect the final results to be available by May 2026.
