Clark County Commission Chairman Michael Naft will host a special ceremony at the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 8 a.m. to honor the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Foundation’s fifth annual Great Chef Run. The iconic landmark will be illuminated in light blue and dark blue to celebrate the event and raise awareness for hospitality scholarships benefiting Nevada students.

“The hospitality industry is the backbone of Southern Nevada’s economy – from guest services to housekeeping to fine dining to gaming – these positions are held by talented, driven hospitality heroes who make Las Vegas such an incredible destination,” said Commissioner Michael Naft. “The Great Chef Run celebrates the next generation of professionals that will continue to make Southern Nevada thrive while supporting student scholarships.”

“We are driven by our goal to raise scholarship funds for hospitality students in Nevada and thereby fuel the pipeline of leadership talent that will guide our state’s largest industry for decades ahead,” said Chair of the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Foundation, Donald Bowman. “We are proud that in just the last four years, we have granted $150,000 in scholarships. We could not have done that without the incredible support of a vast array of local businesses, Clark County, and all the thousands of participants who get up early, dress as chefs, and run, jog, or walk 5k to raise funds for our industry.”

Now in its fifth year, the Great Chef Run is a 5K run/walk fundraiser hosted by the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Foundation on March 21, 2026. The event is designed to be inclusive of all levels of the hospitality industry — from housekeepers to resort managers — and features participants dressed as chefs, music by local DJs, and food prepared by the area’s top culinary talent. Open to the public, the event also welcomes the broader community to support Nevada's largest industry. Details about the race and registration may be found at greatchefrun.com.
