Time to kick back and find your rhythm. Clark County Parks & Recreation invites you to celebrate 36 years of soulful sounds with our free Jazz in the Park Series. This year, we are happy to announce that we are turning back the clock and embracing a ticketless entrance as we did in years past. We are going back to our roots with the traditional first-come, first-served model our long-time customers remember.

The Jazz in the Park Concert Series is more than a concert—it's a celebration of community, culture, and connection. Featuring world-class talent, including Grammy-nominated and Grammy-winning artists, this free event is a gift to the community, designed with intention and heart. This year’s lineup includes:

Michael Phillips is a world-renowned saxophonist. He is known as one of the most electrifying instrumentalists today. Mike is the first musician signed by Michael Jordan to the Nike Jordan Brand, home of the Air Jordan, and is the only musician in the world to have recorded and toured with the legendary “Big Three” of American soul and pop music: Michael Jackson, Prince, and Stevie Wonder, not only as a member of the band, but as a featured soloist.

Marcus Miller is a two-time Grammy winner with a career that spans over 30 years. He has had a decorated career, garnering the 2013 Edison Award for Lifetime Achievement in Jazz (Holland), the 2010 Victoire du Jazz (France), and, in 2013, being appointed a UNESCO Artist For Peace. Miller is an influential performer best known for his blend of funk, groove, soul, and pure technical skill. While you may not know him by name, you have most likely heard him for his distinctive bass sound, which is featured on numerous musical hits by artists such as Luther Vandross, Aretha Franklin, and Elton John. He has been referred to as one of the most significant bass players in jazz, R&B, fusion and soul. Bass Player Magazine includes him on its list of the ten most influential jazz players of this generation.

Jazz Funk Soul is a highly regarded smooth jazz ensemble established in 2014 by seasoned musicians Jeff Lorber (keyboards), Everette Harp (saxophone), and the late Chuck Loeb (guitar). Celebrated for their dynamic, groove-driven style, the group’s debut self-titled album received a Grammy nomination and affirmed their status in contemporary jazz. After Loeb’s passing in 2017, renowned guitarist Paul Jackson Jr. joined, ensuring the band’s tradition of polished, top-charting fusion continued. Combining their talents once again on their 5th Shanachie release, “Simpatico” in 2025, Lorber, Harp, and Jackson Jr. continue combining their individual flavors to engage the audience uniquely and expansively.

Kayla Waters is an acclaimed urban-jazz pianist, composer, and producer who has emerged as a prominent figure in the genre. As the daughter of renowned jazz saxophonist Kim Waters, she made history on the Billboard charts as the first female pianist to achieve the No. 1 position for six consecutive weeks. A graduate of Howard University with classical training, Waters has released several highly regarded albums, including “Apogee” and “Coevolve”. Her exceptional talent has earned her the Rising Star in Jazz award and notable performance opportunities alongside iconic artists such as Gladys Knight and Stevie Wonder.

Al Dimeola's ongoing fascination with complex rhythmic syncopation, combined with provocative lyrical melodies and sophisticated harmony, has been at the heart of his music throughout a celebrated career spanning four decades, earning him critical accolades, three gold albums, and more than 6 million in record sales worldwide. A bona fide guitar hero, perennial poll-winner, and prolific composer, he has amassed over 20 albums as a leader while collaborating on a dozen or so others with the likes of the fusion supergroup Return to Forever (with Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke and Lenny White), the celebrated acoustic Guitar Trio featuring fellow virtuosos John McLaughlin and Paco de Lucia, and the Rite of Strings trio with bassist Clarke and violinist Jean-Luc Ponty. And while his dazzling technique on both acoustic and electric guitars has afforded him regal status among the hordes of fretboard fanatics who regularly flock to his concerts, the depth of Di Meola's writing, along with the soulfulness and the inherent lyricism of his guitarist expression, have won him legions of fans worldwide beyond the guitar aficionado set.
