In celebration of the United States’ 250th anniversary, Clark County Public Arts is thrilled to announce an open call for artists and performers of all ages to participate in Expressions of Clark County: America’s 250th Anniversary Showcase. This landmark exhibition invites creators to reflect on the nation’s past, engage with the present, and imagine the future through visual and performing arts. The submission deadline is May 10, and submissions can be made at https://tinyurl.com/4zuazn2d.
Artists working in all mediums—including painting, sculpture, textiles, photography, mixed media, music, dance, theater, spoken word, and more—are encouraged to share their unique perspectives on America’s journey over the last 250 years and their hopes for what’s to come. Performance submissions must be submitted as video or audio recordings for inclusion in the exhibit.
The exhibition will be held at the Rotunda Gallery at the Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Pkwy, from June 8 to July 16. A special reception will take place on July 16, offering artists a chance to meet and discuss their work with the community.
This competition is open to artists ages 8 and older, though participants under 18 must provide a parent or guardian’s signature and contact information to be eligible. All entries must be submitted by the May 10 deadline. Winners will be recognized with significant prizes, including a $300 Desert Art Supplies gift certificate for Best in Show and $150 certificates for two Honorable Mentions. Additionally, the event highlights live talent by inviting up to three performance groups to showcase their work at the reception, with each selected group receiving a $200 stipend.
