Clark County Commissioner Justin Jones will host a special ceremony at the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. to recognize Mental Health Action Day and honor Boys Town Nevada for its decades of service. The iconic landmark will shine green to highlight the importance of taking action to support mental health in the community.
Lighting the landmark green is a powerful reminder that everyone deserves access to mental health support, and Boys Town Nevada has been a lifeline for families across our community for more than three decades,” said Commissioner Jones.
“Boys Town is proud to be a part of reminding our community about the importance of mental health, it’s OK to raise your hand and ask for support! Nevada ranks 50th in the country in access to mental health resources and that needs to change.” said John Etzell, Boys Town Nevada Executive Director. “Our research-based programs are a beacon of hope for children and families who often suffer from mental health issues.”
Boys Town Nevada has directly served and impacted more than 204,688 children and families over the past five years through its mental health clinic, in-home family services, Common Sense Parenting® classes, and school-based programs that have significantly reduced chronic absenteeism. The organization also operates a 24/7 mental health hotline, 1-800-448-3000, or text VOICE to 20121, which handled more than 100,000 calls and texts in 2025—55 percent related to suicide or mental health crises.
