Clark County is renaming Cesar Chavez Park to Mariachi Park following a unanimous vote by the Board of Commissioners on May 19. The new name reflects the neighborhood’s deep cultural roots and honors its long‑standing traditions.

“Mariachi Park reflects the shared history between Mexico and Las Vegas and honors the generations who helped shape this community,” said Commissioner Tick Segerblom. “It also celebrates the growth of mariachi programs in our East Las Vegas schools and the students and educators who have kept this vibrant tradition alive.”

To commemorate the renaming, Commissioner Segerblom will host a news conference and sign-unveiling ceremony at 9 a.m., followed by a family-friendly event with free food (while supplies last), entertainment, and a tree give (while supplies last) running until noon on Saturday, May 23.

Mariachi Park is located at 1580 Radwick Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89110.
