Clark County Family Services and FirstMed Health & Wellness today officially opened the FirstMed Pediatric Clinic at Child Haven, a new on-campus medical facility designed to provide comprehensive health services to the approximately 3,600 children in Clark County foster care.
The clinic, located on the Child Haven campus at 701 N. Pecos Road, offers primary care, dental services, and behavioral health care — including adolescent psychiatry and mental health therapy — all in one location. It is the first pediatric-focused clinic in the FirstMed network and the first FirstMed location to offer dental services.
“Children in foster care deserve access to quality health care,” said Robynn Bell, Deputy Director, Clark County Family Services. “This clinic removes barriers by bringing primary care, dental and mental health services together in one convenient location for the children we serve. We are proud to expand our partnership with FirstMed to make that a reality.”
The opening expands a longstanding partnership between Clark County and FirstMed, a federally qualified health center (FQHC). FirstMed has served children in County foster care for eight years through its behavioral health programs and for nearly three years through its medical programs. Under its current County contracts, FirstMed sees more than 600 children annually.
“We appreciate our partnership with Clark County and look forward to working together at the new clinic to serve these very important patients,” said Angela Quinn, CEO of FirstMed Health & Wellness.
The clinic is open to all children in Clark County foster care, including those placed at Child Haven and those involved in the adoption process whose adoptions have not yet been finalized but who remain under County supervision. The clinic is staffed with an on-site primary care provider, dentist, and multiple therapists. Walk-ins are welcome, and both in-person and telehealth appointments are available.
Clinic hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Wednesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. For referrals or appointments, contact FirstMed at 702-731-0909.
